Helaas is gecertificeerde wol nog niet overal verkrijgbaar. Toch vinden we dat wol thuis hoort in onze collectie omdat het een mooi en duurzaam product is. Wol heeft een
uitstekend draagcomfort: koel in de zomer, warm in de winter. Wol heeft een hoog ademend vermogen en vocht afvoerende eigenschappen. Dankzij het natuurlijke vet is het zelfreinigend en vuilafstotend. Wol is een natuurlijke vezel; het ademt en is biologisch afbreekbaar en daarom 100% recyclebaar. Als het eenmaal heeft gediend, is het gemakkelijk op natuurlijke wijze te ontbinden en niet schadelijk voor de omgeving. Daarom was het onze uitdaging om o.a. een circulaire wol collectie te ontwerpen.
De meeste van onze wollen kledingstukken zijn recyclebaar; we gebruiken alleen 100% wol zonder andere stoffen (o.a. voering) of aangehechte fournituren zoals knopen, ritsen, etc..
Eigenschappen;
Wol is slijtvast en zeer sterk, ook na lang gebruik blijft een wollen kledingstuk mooi.
De natuurlijke elasticiteit van wol zorgt ervoor dat het comfortabel mee rekt met de bewegingen van de drager maar daarna weer terug komt in zijn oorspronkelijke vorm. Er is weinig kans dat de kledingstuk gaat uitzetten of hun vorm verliezen. Een wollen kledingstuk is gemakkelijk te onderhouden. Wol heeft een natuurlijk beschermende vetlaag waardoor het antistatisch is. Het trekt geen vuil aan, in tegenstelling tot
synthetische garens zoals acryl en polyester. Wollen kleding is zelfreinigend, even luchten is vaak genoeg. Wol is een goede warmte-isolator door de lucht in te sluiten en vast te houden zonder vochtig aan te voelen. Het is zeer ademend.
Unfortunately certified wool is not yet widely available. Nevertheless we think it has to be included in our collection because it is a beautiful and sustainable product. It provides excellent wearing comfort: cool in summer, warm in winter. Wool has highly breathable and moisture wicking qualities. Thanks to its natural fat it is self-cleaning and dirt-repellant. Wool is a natural fiber; it breathes and is biodegradable and therefore 100% recycable. Once it has served it is easy to decompose naturally and not damaging the environment. Therefore it is our challenge to design a circular wool collection. Most of our wool garments are ready to recycle; we only use 100% wool without any other fabrics (s.a. lining) or attached haberdashery such as buttons, zippers, etc..
Properties Wool is durable and very strong, even after long use a woollen garment remains beautiful. The natural elasticity of wool ensures that it stretches along with the carrier, but after You take it off, it returns again in its original form. There is little chance that the garment is going to expand or lose its shape. A woollen garment is easy to care. Wool has a naturally protective greasy layer making it antistatic. It doesn’t attrackt dirt, unlike synthetic yarns such as acrylic and polyester. Woollen clothes are self-cleaning, often airing is enough. Wool is a good heat insulator by the trapping the air and is capable to hold moisture without feeling wet. It’s highly breathable and moisturing.
